Base-10, that is.
You know, where one plus one equals two ...two plus two equals four.
And 11 is eleven, not three.
In times that were not that long ago, we were all told that it was important to learn the three 'R's ...Reading, Riting, and Rithmetic. Good thing spelling wasn't included. Yes, I know it was told that way to help remember it ...and 'R'ather 'R'hythmic.
And yes, Arithmetic or Math, was a big part of our learning.
What if we were told that part of our Math book was wrong?(Thought I was going to say, 'rong'?)
Yes, what if the claim was that part of it was false, but we weren't told which part? Or worse yet, what if we were told that different parts were false, by different people.
We may not trust the book, and we may not know what person to trust ...it would seem, that our overall trust would be diminishing.
But, this wouldn't be merely a simple subtraction problem ...it would probably diminish exponentially.
And I would have no confidence working out my problems. I would not know which part was right.
